There's probably more than the ones I can think of now. 1. It's written Bluestreak. This is probably the most common typo these days, but it was always the Blue Streak. Same as the Titan Blue Streak is also two words. 2. That the Blue Streak saws were only assembled in Australia from Canadian parts. Although they look similar from a distance, the differences are significant even on the very early Australian saws. For example a different crankcase casting to use a Wico magneto instead of the Eiseman. The Blue Streak Major was built until 1958, long after the IEL model M ceased production. There's no way that IEL was still making parts for CC Engineering Industries. 3. That the name Blue Streak came from the British missile project of the same name. The Blue Streak missile was first tested in 1964, and retired in 1971. Definitely after the saws were out of production. 4. The IEL MA and Blue Streak Major MA tailstock has an inspection port on the top. Many tailstocks are fitted upside down these days, so the chip cleaning port that is meant to be on the bottom, is on the top. It's easy to see because when it's upside down, the mount for the chain guard isn't in the upper position. 5. That not all IEL MA, Blue Streak Major MA and MB saws had magneto covers. If your saw doesn't have a magneto cover, it's been lost. They came from the factory with one.

Anything under serial number 550 is an IEL MA, and anything over 730 is a Blue Streak Major..

They were sold as IEL CC Model MA when Australian manufacturing started under licence from Industrial Engineering Limited. The Blue Streak Major name was used later with a few changes in the saw..
